If you are not able to attend SLA 2011 12-15 June in Philadelphia, you can still participate in the conference through the Virtual Conference Component. As a virtual component attendee, you will have the opportunity to view, as well as participate in, the Opening and Closing General Sessions and a generous helping of Spotlight Sessions...in real time! You'll also have access to a virtual INFO-EXPO, which will give you the opportunity to meet with exhibitors that have signed up for the virtual exhibit hall.
Participate in eleven Spotlight Sessions, including ones on design thinking, guerilla marketing, scholarly communication and open access, and knowledge-based decisionmaking, plus the keynotes of Thomas Friedman, the Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Hot, Flat and Crowded, and loyalty expert James Kane. To view of a complete list of "virtual" sessions, visit the conference site.
The registration fee for the Virtual Conference Component is $250. Or, purchase the Virtual Conference Component with a full SLA 2011 conference registration and the price is just $150. Registering for the virtual event entitles you to not only the live virtual sessions but access to that content for 60 days after the conference.
Not sure if virtual attendance is for you? Here's what some of our 2010 virtual participants had to say about their experience:
“...it was an amazingly positive experience of using streaming, tweeting, chat and virtual reality."
“I found the 3D experience totally exceded expectations.... The ability to interact with the speaker & the other virtual attendees made the experience more like attending in person.”
“You felt like you were there...being able to ask questions of the speaker or panel in addition to having our own chat area was fantastic.”
“I have attended ther conferences virtually and this was by far the best virtual conference. The avatar was not too complicated and it was really fun to be a part of live sessions.”
The Virtual Conference Component is the next best thing to being there. Register today!
