The last of six poll questions has been posted to the Alignment Share Forum. Votes have already been cast, and the majority favors continuous learning and professional development as SLA's top priority. Maybe you feel differently? Then don't be left out--your vote will help direct the future path of the association!
Other options include knowledge sharing & collaboration, advocacy & empowerment, or equal standing for all three values. Be sure to help align your professional association with what you value most. The poll question will remain live until Wednesday, 15 December.
But your last chance for alignment input isn't the only reason you should save that date; 15 December is also the last day to nominate a colleague to be recognized as a Rising Star or Fellow of SLA. Rising Star recognition is bestowed annually on new SLA members who show exceptional promise of leadership and contribution to the association and profession. Fellow recognition is reserved for mid-career SLA members for past, present, and potential for future service to the association and the profession.
To nominate, or for more information on awards, visit the Awards & Recognitions page on SLA's website. For any questions or to confirm that a nomination was received, e-mail John Walsh, SLA communications and marketing manager, at jwalsh@sla.org. All other SLA award nominations will be accepted until January 15th. Don't miss your chance to have a colleague recognized at SLA Annual Conference & INFO-EXPO 2011!
