On Friday April 30, several SLA HQ staff members participated in "Spring for Alexandria," a day of community service that draws more than 300 volunteers from the organizations and businesses that, like SLA, call Alexandria, Virgina home.
The city-wide event helps many non-profits, schools and local community resources by mobilizing citizens to work on various beautification and clean-up projects at 90 project sites.
Team SLA had an awesome time working at the Del Ray Community Farmers Market- it was a gorgeous day to be outside and in addition to cleaning up the site for this wonderful community resource, we made some great new friends too!
Leadership Services Associate Kim Richter gets to work!
PR Director Cara Schatz and Business Development Director Stacey Bowers being silly and having a blast!
Exhibits Director DeVonne Parks, Chief Community Officer Linda Broussard and Information Center/E-Learning Manager Carolyn Sosnowski working hard in the dirt!
A Job Well Done!
Great Job, Team SLA!
Are you looking for an opportunity to give back? Don't forget about the service projects in New Orleans before and after the SLA 2010 Annual Conference & INFO-EXPO. This is a chance to help The Big Easy and spend a fun day with your fellow members making a difference.

Volunteer Alexandria is proud to report over 650 volunteers participated in Spring for Alexandria this year. A BIG thanks to the SLA staff for rolling up your sleeves to help out and a special thanks to Cara Schatz who was an amazing team leader. Thanks again!
